IECL Worship and Music ministry

«Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness.»
Psalm 29:2

At the I.E.C.L. we enjoy the richness of a multicultural congregation. We come from many different national, cultural, and church backgrounds. The one thing we have in common is our desire to please the Lord when we worship together. Worship is the way we show the Lord our love and reverence for Him. The honor, adoration, and devotion we show Him in church, we believe, should be just an extension of a life of personal worship.  In such a diverse congregation, it would be impossible to meet the personal preferences and expectations of everyone.  We believe that our worship is for the pleasure of God, and therefore try to keep our focus on Him; while at the same time, we attempt to consider other’s desires/needs more important than our own.

The preaching of the Word of God is central to our worship at I.E.C.L. and therefore, a large portion of our service is given over to the exposition of His Word.   We use a blend of old traditional hymns which have withstood the test of time, and newer more contemporary Christian music. The criteria which guides our choice of music, no matter the style or when it was written, is that it must be doctrinally correct, communicate truth, and lift up the Lord for all to marvel at His Glory. Our church services are relaxed, yet structured. Our goal is to honor God while allowing the congregation to feel welcome and “at home” as we worship together.
